Providence Medical Park
16528 E. Desmet
Spokane Valley, WA

133,226 Square Foot Medical Office, Short Stay Surgery and Urgent Care Center.

CHALLENGES

  • New product that has surgery mixed with office space.
  • Joint Commission Inspection process challenges that would cover property management, tenant maintenance and documentation.
  • High public visibility and property profile.

STRATEGY

  • Work with janitorial contractor to create a new process for surgical room clean testing before inspection, then document results.
  • Create online database of all equipment, maintenance processes and inspection results, and make accessible to property management team and building owner.
  • Implement work order system to ensure deadlines are met for building and tenant equipment.
  • Create a culture of customer service where no job is beneath any employee - from repairing air conditioning to setting up a conference room.

RESULTS

  • Passed Joint Commission inspection with no deficiencies.
  • Alleviated fear for practice managers during inspection process.
  • Created system of record keeping and management that is being replicated across a 2,000,000 square foot medical office portfolio.
